Project Lifesaver of Lancaster County
Bringing Loved Ones Home
The Pilot Club of Lancaster Inc has partnered with Project Lifesaver International to bring this specialized public safety search and rescue program to Lancaster County.

The program is designed for at-risk individuals who are prone to the life-threatening behavior of wandering due to cognitive conditions such as alzheimer's disease, autism spectrum disorder, dementia and traumatic brain injury.

We ask for your help in expanding this lifesaving program for vulnerable members of our community. Please join us in supporting the Project Lifesaver mission: Bringing loved ones home. Your contribution can help save a life or avoid potential injury to a vulnerable child or adult.
How Is Project Lifesaver Different?
Project Lifesaver International is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with more than 20 years of experience in search and rescue operations for individuals with cognitive conditions.

Unlike some tracking products available on the commercial market, Project Lifesaver does not have a profit motive nor is it answerable to stockholders who expect a return on investment.

The Project Lifesaver program is a community-based public safety program connected directly to first responders with advanced training in specialized search and rescue operations.

Over its 25 year history Project Lifesaver has established a proven record of success. Recovery times for local Project Lifesaver agencies average 30 minutes. That's 95% less time than standard operations without Project Lifesaver.
State of the Art Technology
Clients enrolled in the Project Lifesaver program are fitted with a personalized radio-frequency transmitter which may be worn on the wrist or ankle. Should they wander away, this transmitter assists local emergency agencies to locate the individual.
County-Wide Safety Net
The radio-frequency signal used by Project Lifesaver is detectable in areas of Lancaster County without cellular coverage. It is proven more effective than other tracking technologies that are diminished by physical obstructions or adverse weather conditions.
First Responder Network
First-responders participating in Project Lifesaver of Lancaster County include the PA State Police-Troop J Lancaster, the Lancaster Emergency Management Agency, the City of Lancaster Bureau of Police, and a wide network of local police departments across the county.
How to Enroll A Loved One
Project Lifesaver equipment is modestly priced and is adaptable to fit children as well as adults.
